The ICD-848[NTSC]/848P[PAL] is a multi-functional camera that can switchably output color and Black & White images according to changes in illumination. It is ideally suited for uses, such as around-the-clock surveillance in the open air where lighting cannot be installed, and In- hospital mo,nitorlng. In addition, the camera employs a high-sensitivity CCD with about 380,000 pixels (NTSC) or about 440,000 pixels (PAL), delIvering reduced smear, enhanced sensitivity, and high image quality. it helps achieve surveillance under various conditions, including indoor and traffic monitoring, at a high level of sophistication.



Features

High Sensitivity and Color/Black & White Switching The camera can switchably deliver color. and black & white video according to changes in the surrounding illumination. It achieves a minimum subject illumination of 0.15 lx/F1.4 in color and 0.015 lx/F1.4 in black & white. The switching mode can be selected from "Auto Mode" for automatic switching according to changes in illumination; "Remote Mode" for switching in response to an extraneous control signal; and "Manual Mode" for manual switching, to meet your needs. It is ideally suited for uses, such as around-the-clock surveillance in the open air where lighting cannot be installed, and in- hospital monitoring,

Low Smear The camera features a high-sensitivity on-chip lens CCD to provide a smear level of -126dB. Appropriate video can be attained even when, for example, a car headlight is directly captured at night.

Spot Backlight Compensation The camera is capable of specifying only a backlight area displayed on the screen and reproducing the backlight scene as an optimal image. Even when, for example, a car's number plate or a person is captured in a backlight situation, its image can be reproduced crisply.

Auto White Balance In addition to Auto White Balance (ATW1) of auto-tracking type, the camera also features ATW2 that is compatible with sodium-vapor lamps used for lighting on highways and other purposes. Thus, it can capture optimal video under various conditions, both indoors and outdoors.

AES (Automatic Electronic Shutter) The camera boasts AES capability with a sensitivity ratio of about 1:1600 (NTSC) or 1:2000 (PAL). Even with a fixed-aperture lens, the sensitivity can be adjusted appropriately according to changes in illumination of the surveillance area. *These feature cannot be used in geographical regions where the line frequency and the camera's vertical frequency are different from each other.

High Picture Quality It delivers 480 lines of horizontal resolution. Incorporating state-of-the-ar1 digital process circuitry, the camera can reproduce a rock- solid, sharp image.

Remote Setup The pushbutton located on the rear of the camera allows various setups to be customized. With the aid of the RCU-701 Remote Control Unit >>>> or RSU-871 (RS-232 control), you can set up the camera installed on the top of the building or at any elevated place by use of the same cable as the video coaxial.
